There are two styles of this cap. Learn what they are, and don't let someone sell you a reproduction! Good luck. Both styles say Made In USA under the Ford script.

Here’s what you need to look for

The early caps with the Made In USA don’t show up very often, so if you see one grab it when you can

FYI, I’ve found the “going rate” for a decent one is around $125-$150. I’ve seen them for more, but you can usually get one for that.

This is the style that would be correct for late 1912-early 14.

Thanks to everyone for all of the information.
I have a copy of the judging guidelines, so know what to look for.
Am I correct that none of the repros have the 'made In USA" stamped in them?

Correct on the repos not having Made in USA. I searched for mine for 6 years and gave up then 1 finally popped up on eBay. Can’t say if what you have there is original or not.

Also, I have this steel one currently on the car.
1915 vintage?
I would trade or sell this towards one that is correct for ‘13.
What is it worth?

The link that Gene posted is a very nice copy. I have seen those before. I fail to remember when Ford introduced the brass breather caps, but I believe it was in 1912. They don't say Made In USA.

My early 13. Engine was cast 12-24-12. No Made In USA. May have been a left over 1912 part.
