All original 1913 touring for sale
$10,000 Saw on FB marketplace in Indianapolis IN. Been sitting in barn for 75 years. From Seller "Title in hand. Manuals and multiple other pieces of paperwork for it. Very very solid car. Very light surface rust. Been sitting in a barn for the last 75 years. All there. Original leather straps, lantern lights, doors open and shut great, all pedals move, seats are solid (obviously seats need new upholstery), throttle, choke, timing levers all move. NOT SEIZED UP!! Tires are junk from sitting. Rims are still good. Windshield glass isn’t broke. It’s all there. Any questions just shoot me a message. No trades. Come check it out. You won’t be disappointed."

Re: All original 1913 touring for sale
Adam, what makes it not a 13? 13's had rounded bottom corners on the doors like this one does. 14's had sharply pointed (90 degree) corners on the doors.

Re: All original 1913 touring for sale
It's a '14. '13 doors went all the way to the bottom, plus the windshield supports on a 13 are straight, not long-legged like this one. Otherwise they are very similar cars.

Re: All original 1913 touring for sale
Dog legged windshield supports...not long legged...didn't catch the auto correct! Sorry.
Looks to be a very early 14 also...later 14s had a bill on the front fender.

Petty neat! I’ll bet the seats can be saved if nobody is allowed to sit on them yet. That would be really cool.

What a great entry level early Ford, regardless of exact year. Get it running and enjoy it as is. Cool survivor.

Re: All original 1913 touring for sale
It could have been built in late 1913, but it is the improved 1914 body style. The rear seat won't fall off if the doors are open...

Cars seem to be for sale a lot longer around here. Hopefully a T person bought it and it resurfaces.

Re: All original 1913 touring for sale
This was my 13 after I got it home. It has not been on the road since 1928.
Give an old car guy a barn and he won't throw anything away.

Re: All original 1913 touring for sale
I have a '14 like that too. Everything on my car is 1913 except the body. Even the firewall has the hole for the 1913 steering column, but it has a '14 steering column.

Re: All original 1913 touring for sale
So I have a 14 with a 13 build date. It has one 14 front-fender on it and one 13 front fender on it. The rears are the 14 style. This question is for original smith. What front fenders would you use? Hate to hijack the thread but it seemed as good a place as any to ask the question. It an original car that would be as good as this one if it was disassembled for a restoration that never happened.

Re: All original 1913 touring for sale
The 1913 touring body was weak in the rear seat sills, resulting in problems showing up soon after the first ones were sold. Ford responded with an early recall, having dealers install metal brackets on the sills and secondary body to frame brackets on some cars. The factory put those changes onto cars as production continued. However, the problem was serious enough that Ford rushed the design for the1914 model touring bodies, getting them into production at most of the body supplier's early. Ford began installing the new style bodies at least by July of 1913 (some historians think maybe as early as mid-June?), still well within the 1913 model year. So it would be possible for such a car to be a 1913. For about a month or maybe more, both '13 and '14 style touring car bodies were being assembled at Ford's factories. A lot of the 1913 model year produced later style touring cars had the 1913 forward folding windshield. And photographic evidence shows that some late '13 style bodies also got the 1914 style windshield. Photos indicate that during the time both new and old style bodies were being produced, windshields of both '13 and '14 styles were also being used, and often not on the matching year-style bodies.
