For Sale. Aluminum Warford case
Here is a bare aluminum Warford six speed transmission case. It has a “bite” out of the input flange. Otherwise is in good shape. I’m listing this because there are many of these out there that are in far worse condition (such as badly cracked cases) and this could be an easy repair for a qualified machinist. (I’m thinking a steel back-up flange and studs or longer bolts on the bottom). Make me an offer. I’ll ship anywhere in the USA for cost. It’s pretty light so shouldn’t be bad. Email if you want it. Please don’t post here or send a pm. Thanks!

Re: For Sale. Aluminum Warford case
Last chance if anyone wants it. $30 will buy it, which means it would arrive at your door for less than $50 bucks... If there are no takers in the next day or so it’s going to be machined in half the long way and made into a nice wall-hanging display piece for my shop. There would then be an opportunity for someone to buy the back side for half price.

Someone could fill it in with aluminum weld and then grind it back to look original.

I have a set of low speed gears to get you rolling if you want to piece the granny together.
Brad.

Re: For Sale. Aluminum Warford case
Hello Brad,
On your offer for a set of gears. It appears you are offering one gear that slides on the output shaft and another gear that presses onto the counter shaft. On the early Warfords the counter shaft diameter was smaller than the later Warfords, so the ID of the gear that presses onto the counter shaft is important. I addition the under drive gears for the aluminum Warford are a different ratio and thus tooth count than the cast iron Warford. As I recall there is only one tooth difference. I suggest listing the tooth count on both gears and the ID of the cluster gear.
Thank you,
Terry

Re: For Sale. Aluminum Warford case
Thanks Brad,
I do have a complete trans. but the case has been broken in half, who ever tried to weld it never learned how to weld aluminum, the weld is so porous
that gear oil leaks threw it making it almost impossible to to repair. If the weld is that porous I dought it is very strong. so I have been keeping an eye out for another case to put the gears in. When I go to assemble the trans. I will assess the gears again if they are not as good as I remember ( its been over two years since I looked at them last ) I'll contact you.
Thanks again. Craig
