FS-CAST ALUM FINNED 3 AND 4 DIP OIL SUMP CASTINGS

Post by Dan McEachern » Wed Dec 16, 2020 11:59 pm

THESE CASTINGS ARE 356 T6 ALUMINUM AND WILL FIT 3 AND 4 DIP OIL PANS DEPENDING ON HOW YOU DRILL THEM. On a 4 dip pan, the sump will only cover the 1st 3 dips. Provision inside to attach an oil baffle plate and there are thick side pads on each side for tapped holes for oil lines, or just use for extra oil capacity with a splash lubricated engine.
$125.00 each plus UPS shipping at cost. dmcgearsatyahoodotcom or PM me. Payment by PP or your choice of check or MO.

Good price on a high quality casting. If I was in the need for one I'd jump on it. Finding a good older casting is somewhat difficult and when you do they've often been used and abused.

Dan
Does this require spacer plate, and is there any provision for scoup on splash engine with A crank ?

Dan
Thanks for email reply, If used on splash engine with out anything to circulate oil from sump then it wouldn't serve much value, other than more oil capacity,
Am I correct in my thinking ? better heat transfer with pump to circulate oil.

On a splash engine most use an accessory outside oil line like a Ford Faithfull or a hogshead oil line like the one Texas T Parts offers. The extra oil goes to the front of the engine and excess drains thru the dip tray via standoffs into the sump, returning to the flywheel area via a balance pipe/hose to the transmission area.

I will take one for a 4 dip pan. There is no cell phone service for the last 3 weeks to your place. All circuits are busy, try again later. Give me a call

All- I've been cleaned out of sump castings for the moment. Rich J. will get the last one. I've had these sitting on the shelf for over two years and thought I would sell a few. The pattern is back at the foundry but I don't have pricing. Most likely the price will increase, as I've been getting significant casting cost increases for the past 6 months. Please send me a PM here or an e-mail to dmcgearsatyahoodotcom if you want a sump casting.
John- you are on my list already. thanks all

Hello All- I have more sump castings available on a limited basis, as there were a few folks that did not get one when I 1st posted these. There was a substantial price increase at the foundry as I expected there would be. The new price is $175.00 each plus UPS shipping. If you have interest you can PM me or send an email to :dmcgearsatyahoo.com.

Thanks, Dan
