Interior Trim 23-25 Touring

Post by SurveyKing » Fri Mar 08, 2019 9:42 am

In undergoing a re-restoration of my 1924 Touring I have a question pertaining to the interior trim below the two rear doors adjacent to the floor. Attached are photos of each the left and right interior doorways showing two small irregular shape panels one either side of each door. I believe these to have been put there during the restoration back in the 1970s, but am not sure if it originally appeared this way. Can someone post photos of either an original 23-25 Touring or one that was restored correctly so I can replicate it here?

I will look at my 24 Daniel.
Not original, but I think it's correct from my dad's restoration.
Seems like about what you have. I will get a picture later.
You should maybe post this on the main forum.

I don't think any trim was used in those areas. Contact Mike at Classtique Upholstery. He makes the kits.

I have been restoring a very original June of 25 Touring, almost done. Are you referring to the metal trim on top of the wood sill or the what looks like fabric trim placed on top of the wood at the bottom of the door frames? My 25 had the metal trim on the wood sills, it did not have the fabric material around the bottom of the doors; those were bare wood painted black.

Rick, would you mind posting a picture or two of the bottom area of the rear doors? Thanks

Dan,
pm me with a cell number and I can text you pictures of my 25. Still working on how to do pics here. My restoration included a re-wood of the whole car so you will be looking at new wood around the bottom of the doors and new metal sill plate covers but happy to share.
