1913 KW Lid Instructions
Need to find lid instructions for a 1913 KW coilbox. Randall had them but can't find them. I have a lid that needs the instructions.

Re: 1913 KW Lid Instructions
You set the lid down on top of the coil box and then latch the latches. Pretty much the same as the later coil boxes except the box is wood and the latches are different...

Har har har. I couldn’t resist.
I’m looking for a real nice original condition lid for one. If you run across an extra one, let me know. (email). Wood finger joints have to be tight and something nobody’s ever fooled around with. Quality of finish not important. Would actually prefer ancient black paint to match my box.

Re: 1913 KW Lid Instructions
Jon Anderson can make you one. HOWEVER, I understand not all lids fit the lower half the same. I've probably had over a half dozen of these boxes over the years, and have had pretty good luck with them.

Maybe Frank can take a picture of his and send it to you. Just print it out and glue it on!

Re: 1913 KW Lid Instructions
Unfortunately its not my box. Got the picture off the Internet. I did some additional searching about restoring/cleaning old documents and it sounds like you can clean up Keith's image of the instructions with Photoshop (I don't have it and other on-line software didn't work). This Youtube video shows how its done https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AphMCTGG4yw looks like it would work. If someone has the software it would be easy to try and do. Before and after. There is an offer for a 1 month free trial of Photoshop BUT you need to include credit card if you forget to cancel you get billed.Original Smith wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 10:18 amThe box Frank posted is mint!
