Just to be clear, I think these are called "figure eight " shackles.
The "Mae West" ones would have one side bigger than the other?
Am I right?

NO, I believe the 1909-1910 ones, as illustrated are the May West ones. Do you think May West was lop sided?

Check pictures one lobe is larger for Mae West (side profile of Mae) https://mtfca.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php? ... &view=next
This is about Figure 8's http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/11 ... 1282608237
And the real Mae West wasn't what she appeared to be (repro's :o ) http://maewest.blogspot.com/2012/08/mae ... ng-up.html

Mae West shackles have a larger rounded end at the eye end than they do at the pin end. If the two ends are the same size, they are figure 8 shackles, and these are later. I presume the Mae West nomenclature refers to a well endowed set of hips.

Thank you all for the info. I thought they look more figure 8 than Mae West. So huge price reduction. These Shackle are still in good shape. Only 25$ plus shipping.
