I will hazard a guess and say that it fits over the exhaust manifold and the chain goes through the keyhole type hole on the two pieces that resemble wrenches. They would then be used for compressing the valve spring for removal of the pin. Jim

I tried the exhaust manifold. That didn't work. I wonder if it straddled the block and down into the piston cylinder?
