SOLD--Straight thru Carb. SIMMONS???

Post by Jack Putnam, in Ohio » Thu Dec 02, 2021 6:43 pm

I have an unbranded straight through carburetor. It is not labeled NH, believed to be Simmons. Very good condition, working flapper valve, has a brass float, very little side movement on throttle shaft and a new choke spring has been installed.$225 and that includes shipping. Paypal preferred. In my opinion, these run quite well. Mike Walker restored one for me and it runs very well!!

I thought Simmons had a heating element at the mounting flange.

Did an Internet Search based on the heater question.
This discussion shows a Simmons Super Carburetor with a heater coil and mentions that many NH parts were interchangeable

This discussion shows a Duplex Carburetor which looks more like the one on MTFCA http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/33 ... 1372915657

In comparing some pictures the carb's profile looks like a Duplex Improved however the throttle flapper is different. If you keep reading you'll see the relationship between Simmons, Duplex \Wizard , Western Auto

Comparisons shows stampings & data plate on a Duplex Improved Carb (not seen in other links)

Explains that Wizards were made by Simmons for Western Auto
