Post by Humblej » Thu Jan 06, 2022 4:11 pm

I am about to work on my T engine and need a new copper head gasket. Anyone have a spare you are willing to sell?

There were some on Lang's model T website just this morning.

You need to call to make sure they’re in stock. They don’t take them off the website when they’re out of stock.

Try Olson's Gaskets as they are a manufacturer of gaskets for antique cars. https://www.olsonsgaskets.com/

That website only showed some weird head gasket for some kind of conversion. From what I heard a while back, there's only one mfg. of these head gaskets, the old tooling for them went kaput, and it'll be a while before the new tooling is up and running.

The vendors do not know when to expect copper head gaskets again. Looking for one before I tear into my engine so I know I can put it back together. Hate having things sitting around in pieces awaiting parts. Anyone have a spare copper gasket sitting around that you would be willing to sell?

I'm looking for 2 or3 myself. Maybe if we get enough people to commit, they'll fire off a batch. Just a thought.

I ordered 3 several months ago from Lang. Apparently their supplier has other priorities

Word on the street is the manufacturer had some equipment break and they’re waiting on it to to get back up and running.

The word I have is the only supplier's tooling is worn out, and they are awaiting new or reconditioned tooling. This may take a while!

Why do people need some many head gaskets?

I would be happy with a nicer used head gasket, the steel one the car came with looked good till I went to clean it and found it was bolted down on a lot of debris, since it is the only gasket I have it got the damaged spots filled with jb weld.

Kurt. Dave Young here over in Mays Landing. I don't have any new copper gaskets on hand but do have a number of the composite new ones and a big stack of used ones. Shoot me a text if you want to stop by. 609-289-0677. The best head gasket is made by Ford-n-More out west. I buy them directly from him.

Hi Tom, Paula Gould, Gator's wife in Alabama.
How many of the copper head gaskets do you have? I am checking for him because I happened to be on the Forum and saw your post

Does anyone have a lead on any more head gaskets? Putting my engine back together after doing some work and my original gasket is a little rough!
