For
sale: I think this is an early steering wheel' It is 17" OD and cast ? very heavy and very good condition. $125 plus postage

Don’t take this wrong but those steering wheels can be bought all day long for $50 and under. I’ve got a several that I’ve bought from EBay for $25-$30. That’s a very common steering wheel. Good luck with your sale.

Melba, the 17" diameter steering wheels are the last ones made. That one is not cast. The spider is fabricated, and riveted to the centre piece. Again, this is a later method of manufacture. On the early wheels the spiders were cast in one piece, initially i brass and later in steel. I believe all Canadian production wheels were all cast, even the late 17" ones.
