model T mainbearing mold
my original design Model T mainbearing mold will pour the babbitt bearings in BOTH the block and caps of the Model T Ford engine ... the bearings will be poured at 1 1/8" diameter to allow for finish machining as needed ... instructions are included as well as my phone or email support ... price is $120 plus $16.50 priority mail postage in lower 48 states ...actual postage outside this area or INTERNATIONAL ...Gene french ph. 970-581-2808 address : Gene French 49519 cr23 Nunn, Co. 80648

picture of babbitted block and caps ... my design mainbearing mold uses a single center gate (spru) ... the intent in this design is to eliminate the knit line that can occur with many of the vintage multiple gate molds ... the multiple flow front that was present with the multiple gate tools often entrapped gasses or impurities at the knit line ... the single center gate design will cause gasses or impurities to move toward the vented endcaps to avoid entrapment ...always an optimist Gene French

Had some issues with the babbit not flowing all the way to the top of the mold especially the right front corner ect. Would you suggest putting shims under the mold plate? Or inlarging the vent holes?
