Re: Roofe
Did you buy it? was worth much more than the $10K is sold for

Re: Roofe
? you posted a link to an auction, the question was did you buy the car in the listing, then the comment that it was worth more than the hammer drop price shown.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Right below the photo of the O.H.V. "T" is a photo of a Cushman 3 wheel ice cream peddler's Truckster. I believe that's the same one that was restored by Gary D'Onofrio, formerly of Torrance, CA. later moved to Prescott, AZ. after he retired from the fire department.
Haven't heard from him since he moved.

Re: Roofe
Nice find Michael! I believe that to be a Roof model “B”head as the “A” used the block ports as intakes, and the “C” had 4 round exhaust ports. It is also equipped with the early style rocker arms that were known for breaking.
My dad had a Roof model B that the machine shop “misplaced” years ago… he may be interested in finally parting with the manifolds, rockers, etc that he keeps as a painful reminder

Re: Roofe
Thanks for the replies! Frank and Mark I apologize for sounding rude! I read Frank's reply as two questions. Kevin's reply will put me on the googler for a while today. Hoping the moderators can move this to the general discussion board today. I'm not savvy enough to do it.
Any more insight will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Re: Roofe
Michael. Your head is a Roof type B based on the rocker arm configuration. Roof used 3 or 4 different configurations of rocker arms during production of the type B head. Yours appears to be one of the earlier versions. The reason for changing the rocker arms was due to breaking and ending up with a very robust configuration that carryover to the type BB and C heads. The intake and exhaust valves are smaller in diameter on the type B with the BB having valves fundamentally the size of a Model T.
I would like to see better pictures of the head. Nice find.

Re: Roofe
Glad someone here got it. There was a lot of nice items in that auction. Most stuff went for a good price, Being a car from a museum I would check everything. A "museum quality" restoration can be anything from a full ground up perfect job, to just a shiny paint job. After all, in a museum, the outside is all that needs to look good.
