My 25 came to me without a title. I live in a state that requires a title for registration. Need a proper 25 title.

Can you get a bonded title in Kansas ? My Depot hack from OK did not have a title. Got a bonded title and in three years it becomes a regular title. in the meantime vehicle is registered and can be driven and sold with the bonded title. Good Luck.

Many states, I assumed Kansas City Missouri, like Missouri have what called a Bonded Title.
This link explains how to get one. https://suretysolutions.com/suretynews/ ... ded-title/
Step #1: Meet requirements
-Vehicle must be at least 7 years old
-Vehicle cannot be worth more than $3,000 do you have a Bill of Sale?
-There must be no record of any prior application for title on the motor vehicle
Now the last requirement is where many owners cause themselves a problem. "In the beginning" States filed their issued titles by Manufacturer, Model and a serial number. Ford and many others used the same schema, the 3 order values, to uniquely identify their vehicles. Today an International Method of 17 characters, VIN, is used. It is a smart number schema where certain values in specific positions are used to indicate manufacturer, country of manufacture, model, year, and end in a serial number. Many Model T owners just want the serial number to be the unique id but this may or may not be possible in a database of all titled vehicles. So as an example your engine serial number was 13049030. Now the clerk, also a Model T owner understands the issues, but has to check the International database to see if it exists. If it does it may have detail about it for a different make, model etc, it may not exist :D . or the worse case it does exists for a Ford Model T same model & year as yours but for a different owner  Now you have an issue.... If you have a creative clerk they may assign one like FMDLT192513049030. and everybody 's happy

Thanks for all of the quick responses. The car is a touring (phaeton) but for what it's worth a Missouri title would not show anything more than model year and manufacturer.

Joe, I just realized why you asked that question. Other state titles may show the body style, such as tudor, fordor, roadster etc. Thanks.

I went through the same thing five years ago in Missouri. I was trying to help my aunt get a title in Missouri. I was buying the car to take to Nebraska, which requires a title for any vehicle bought in another state. DMV, highway patrol and others were not helpful. I was told that my aunt would need to go to the circuit court to have a judgement that she had legal ownership. The car has been in the family and used as a farm truck since the 1930's. I doubt that anyone in the family ever had a title.

I was able to get a title in Nebraska only because I had a good paper trail that allowed me to title the car as an "assembled classic car". Detailed bills of sale from my aunt and previous owner, cousin Bessy, saved the day for me.

You can register it in Vermont yourself in about 10 minutes, no need to pay a title company. Need a Bill of Sale (not notarized) and the paperwork you can download off of the Net. In about two weeks you will get a registration and plates. Vermont does not have titles for vehicle over 15 years old so the registration can be used as a legal title for you to transfer. I have done it many times.

Why not simply have your state issue a title?
I have found an easy way. I do a Lien Sale for storage fees. Stop by your local police impound yard and ask them who does their Lien Sales for them. Here in Los Angeles area I use Grant Lien Sales. Cost $75.00. I get a title with the engine serial number on it.
