Moore was possibly the 3rd most popular aux. trans after Ruckstell and Warford. Advantage over Ruckstell is that the Moore has a neutral (so you can have the T towed a long distance without fear) plus if you have an early rear end you don't lose that look. The Moore is rear mounted so no heavy weight hanging off the back of your engine/transmission like the Warford. And rear mounted means better weight distribution for speedsters.

I'm putting up for sale my never used (rebuilt about 5 years ago) Moore underdrive that comes complete with a shortened tube and a newly made shortened driveshaft. It was rebuilt my someone well known in antique Ford circles for his quality work. The gears are good and new parts were machined as part of the rebuild.

Price is $2000 and I have more in it than that. It's located in NW AR but I'm likely doing some travel soon and might be able to delivered it closer to you. It's too big and heavy to ship.

Is that a stock Ford spool and Hyatte roller bearing?

The Moore transmission does use a standard spool and Hyatt bearing at the rear.
All that appears missing from the shifter is short length of water pipe. Mine is about 15" long, threaded on the end to take a screwing knob.

What is the gear ratio. And is it underdrive and direct only and no overdrive. Just curious

As Allan mentioned, this version of the Moore didn't have a special shifter (unlike the one in the link at the top). A pipe or rod (cut to your desired length) with a knob on the top as all you need. You should easily be able to find something that works, maybe something similar to this:

Art M, The Moore was a sliding-dog shift with direct and 50 percent underdrive. In good condition, they are easy to shift, and although they do have a neutral, rarely miss or get stuck in neutral. However, it is possible to get stuck there, especially if one kills the engine mid-shift? And therefore good brakes of some sort not relying on the driveline are a necessity. Same with a Ruckstell.
I wish I could afford this. They were one of the earliest auxiliary transmissions for a model T. And allow a good mountain intermediate gear for brass era model Ts.

Wasn't aware that Ruckstell made an auxiliary transmission, just the 2-speed axle- learn something new every day.

Hello, do you happen to have any measurements or detailed drawings/pictures of the rear section? I know it uses stock model t parts but I need a better look at the rear plate that bolts to the T rear end.
