Himico Transmission

This Himico accessory transmission made by Hinkley Motors replaces Ford's planetary gear transmission with a 3-speed+R sliding gear, lever shifted transmission and pan. It retains a rearward transmission drum brake and does not require shortening the drive shaft. This unit also has the optional auxiliary low (or fourth forward speed), which was offered for both Model T and Model TT applications. It does not have the optional PTO shaft output. Back in the day, one could purchase a complete engine and transmission, just the transmission, just the manifold, or just the head.

I believe this transmission to be complete except for the clutch pedal and shifter lever. As seen, the transmission is still bolted to a block, and the head and some other small parts are included. The serial number is difficult to read, but I believe the block was stamped on Nov. 25, 1924. It appears someone tried to use hydraulic pressure to free the stuck #3 piston, which broke its top. I removed a starter block-off plate and confirmed that the flywheel does have a starter ring gear. I also found a small piece cracked around a cover bolt. Everything is rusty and will need to be completely gone through. I am happy to take any additional photos or answer any questions that I can. This will be pick up only in the Kansas City metro area or free delivery to Chickasha. $1100 and open to reasonable offers.
