I am uncertain regarding the question of running aluminum rod directly on the steel crankshaft rod throw ... many small engines and air compressors do exactly that ... i have re-babbitted aluminum connecting rods for Lycoming ( Auburn ) engines , so the rods can be babbitted ... regarding the wristpin end ... this is bored to wristpin diameter and slotted in the same manner as the original T rods ... hope this answers some of the questions on this rod set ... the machining process will be time consuming and will require careful work , this is NOT an "add water and stir " operation ...always an optimist ...Gene French
