Where is the oil can bracket supposed to attach to firewall..I'm thinking next to shut off valve low enuf to clear hood closing. Problem is attaching screws with gas tank right in back of it . Any ideas?

Ford provided an oil can, but no bracket. The bracket was an aftermarket accessory, so you can put it wherever it looks right to you. I put mine on the passenger side of the firewall, in the engine compartment.

Thanks Mark..gas tank right in back of firewall..no room between tank and firewall..worried about screws digging into tank..thinking about an adhesive maybe...1926 coupe cowl tank ..Jim

The passenger side looks right to me also.

Just looking for ideas..could mount on driver side..lot of holes there to bolt into..but like u..I prefer on passenger side

Sounds like a great way to lose a nice oil can. Honestly, even if it's great stuff, I believe that heat from the engine will melt the glue on the tape.

A friend applied a cow horn to his cowl with Ultra black silicone. Been there around 20 years.
The horn is much heavier than a can of oil. I have attached under dash switch panels the same way.

All good points..if.. using Gorilla 2 side tape..can falls it'll hit shelf pan and won't go anywhere..I used it ony step plates cuz didn't want to drill holes in my nice running boards..they haven't moved in 2 years and with a little heat I can remove them and not damage the paint...good point hadn't thought about engine heat. Thanks for the responses.

I've longed believed that if modern adhesives had been available during Henry's time he would have used them..anything to inexpensively speed up production.
As long as it is not obvious to the eye.on a restored vehicle...
