Hey guys I'm looking for 1 early forged running board bracket to match up the other 3 that I have. Here's the specifics:

The bolt boss for the running board truss rods is about 0.56 - 0.57" thick
The bolt boss for the bolts on the very end for the running boards is about 1/2" thick
The long section from where it's riveted to the frame is more rounded/heavy casting rather than flatter and thinner like the later ones.

Frank, here you go:

Frank, the one in your top picture is 1909-10.

They are all forgings. The later ones have forge flashings along the top and bottom of the arms. The cross section is symmetrical about the vertical axis.

The early ones have a couple of distinguishing features.
The triangular surface which mates to the frame rail is concave at the bottom and the transition to the arm is flat underneath.

These brackets were forged at the frame end from the top and bottom so the flashings are along the sides of the iron, not along the top and bottom like the later ones.

Part of this process is a difference in cross section at the frame end. It is more pear shaped, thicker on the bottom side.

If you get a chance to compare them the differences are obvious.

Still looking. Thanks for the replies so far. Please read the description of the thickness of the bracket that I’m trying to match up. Through the years the brackets became thinner and lighter.

Fellows wanting to help, check the shape of the flange that mounts to the frame rail. If the bottom/base of the bracket curves upward between the two bottom holes, what you have may suit. On the lighter weight later brackets the bottom edge curves downwards between the two bottom holes.

Richard, your example has the bottom edge of the frame mounting flange with the curved down edge between the two lower holes. It needs to be concave at that point. You will also notice that the forge flashings at that end are along the top and bottom of the arm. The earlier ones have that flashing on the sides. This sideways stamping leaves the start of the arm rather flat underneath until it transitions further down the arm.
I wish I still had the two that were in my swapmeet stash so I could post a photo.

You are correct Allen and I have spoken with Mike and it is not the correct one. So he is still looking and mine is off to Luray.

Larry, the grey one is likely correct. Note the concave between the two bottom holes and the forged flashings on the side of the arm.

There are some differences on the running board end too, about the bosses for the bolt holes, but these may be of no consequence.
