Wanted: 1915-16 Top Boot for Touring

Post by Fozz71 » Thu Aug 21, 2025 9:05 am

Just wanted to test the waters and see if anyone has a top boot for a 1915-16 Touring car? I know I can get one made but wanted to see beforehand if anyone has one available?

Thanks

15 and 16 boots are not the same, although they will interchange.

I'm not terribly picky on smaller subtle differences, just looking for function, so I'm okay with either. Thanks for the detail.

James, I'm not trying to derail your request, however...

While you may be focused on functionality, I believe that the original boots from the factory fit better and were better secured than the reproductions available today. Here's a couple of earlier threads discussing those original boots and the "better" way to deal with the middle strap.

The reproduction boot on my '14 has developed a slight tear on the side, and it still works, but if I were to replace it, I would rather get a boot that works like the factory one. In my opinion, that would be more accurate and work better than what I have today (win/win). Unfortunately, I an not aware of any sources for ready-made versions of the original style.

Keep crankin',
Eric
