Karl I am so glad I saw your alert . I am working a deal with Mavo West / Mack West . he contacted me saying he has a set of Sevens axle tools for sale. I have a add on MTFCA classified right now . I ask hem to send me a picture of the tools with the tools in the shape of a X . He did I was just about to send hem the money . what is google lens ? Matter of fact I would have sent hem the money already but when I tried to pay on pay pal a woman's name came up . So I did not send it . I left hem a message I am waiting to hair back . What do you thank . Perry

Perry..glad you didn't get scammed.
Google lens is a valuable tool, also often called Google reverse image...I have a screenshot of the Google search page..at the top to the right where it says Search, of the little microphone icon theres a little square thingy with a dot. First, you screenshot what you are researching. Such as the pic of those faux monocle arms he was peddling that Marc Chaffin called him out on. Then you tap that little square thing and your gallery will open up. Find the screenshot, or other pics you may already have that you want to verify their very authenticity and you may be surprised what comes up.

I too have thwarted scammers this way and sent them their pic BACK to them from it and never heard from them again. Its a helpful tool. Hope this helps. Play with it on any pic to get accustomed to using it. Good luck.

Yup. Got another scam attemp today. Deborah Hooper deb72emm@gmail.com and for PayPal payment wench99.pt@gmail.com. tried their best to sell merchandise a monocle windshield. First stolen picture was of a brass one. When I indicated I wanted aluminum, it turned aluminum! They stole a picture from the HAMB website and changed the background. It is likely these folks are reading our posts as the classifieds are public access. My suggestion, the administrators should keep the forum public and classifieds as member access only. Be careful out there. Lots of scumbags!

"Deborah Hooper" just provided PayPal payment instructions for funds to be sent to Patricia Trudell@ptwench. When asked who Patricia was, she replied, "That's just my hobby name." These folks are pathetic. Reported this activity to PayPal. Doubt anything will be done. Keep your head on a swivel! 😀

Update. I told "Deborah, Patricia" I would need her to provide identification before sending PayPal funds. I received this!

Now her name has changed again! Colleen Winchester. Not even a very good fake ID at that! These folks are rediculous. I told her it was fun playing and she has been reported to PayPal, Google and FBI Internet Fraud Division.

It's so dumb we have to fight this all the time I've been called a scammer 2 times now and thank god 🙏 I've had my awesome customers back me up here and on Facebook those people are no longer here or on Facebook. Remember do your research and worst case ask here on the fourm for references from other members and if anything if your un easy just don't buy it

Perry, I think the same person tried to scam me last spring over a speedometer set up! I was about to pay and , like you, the PayPal address wasn’t his, and when I questioned it he had a similar excuse, it was his wife’s or somebody’s! I backed out, and he got abusive. I just told him I’d decided it was more than I wanted to pay. This was on Facebook group, and the advertisement disappeared immediately.

I know there are some new guys on here from time to time, so I usually check thier past posts to see if they have contributed in the forums. If not I then proceed with caution, checking google image search. Sometimes the way their emails are written are a giveaway…
