For anyone in the future:
This puller is a cam gear puller 5Z320 and was for pulling the small timing gear off the end of crankshafts
The 5Z326 Transmission Gear Puller looks just like this but doesn't have the raised lip at the tip

I have several that have that same undercut on the arms. They all fit the driven gear. Mine are all numbered 3Z611.Scott_Conger wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2026 2:45 pmFor anyone in the future:

If you squeeze the arms together a bit & remove the big chunk of steel off the screw it will work as a very good puller for rear wire wheel hubs.

Regarding rear wire wheel hub pullers, I've had success with a Harbor Freight Tie Rod and Pitman Arm Puller ($13.99.) You will need to grind off the insides of the tips by just a small amount to slide into the groove. Nobody should ever have to feel guilty about grinding, hacking, tweaking, or wrecking Harbor Freight tools.
