WTB Generator

Post by myersair » Tue Jun 18, 2019 8:49 am

Looking to buy two (2) serviceable Model T generators. They don't need to be overhauled just in working condition. I may also settle for a good cores.

Thanks Hank I'll keep that in mind.
The issue is.... these are project cars that the employees that I work with and I are putting together from a large pile of parts. They will be speedsters just because we only have chaise parts. This is all being done with volunteer labor and we have one that is 99% complete. We are trying to do this on the cheap!!

Randy

I understand and respect what you're doing, but Hank's offer IS doing it on the cheap, particularly when he is absorbing around $30 in shipping. Understand that a "good core" may only contain a useable housing. A fully remanufactured generator will contain around $280 worth of new parts, including a $200 rewound armature.

A working generator that maybe a dozen guys, over a span of 90 years, who didn't know what they were doing, farted around with them will not lead to a reliable device.

Myself and others who do this sort of work would charge you twice what Hank is...You really ought to try to raise some funds to take him up on his offer

In any event, it's nice of you to do what you're doing and best of luck

Scott,
All very good points and if it was my car I would jump at Hanks very generous offer. However..... because we have a budget I need to see what I can find.
