For Sale: Stewart Speedometer gear and drive *SOLD*

Post by AdminJeff » Sun Sep 15, 2019 6:33 pm

Nice Stewart Speedometer gear and drive unit In excellent condition, the gears turn freely and smoothly. No grease in the cup - it's obviously been thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt.

#1913 is RH - 2 & 1/2 to 1 ratio - Model T and a bunch of other cars that have the drive on the passenger side (RH)

Tooth Ratio is 16:58

$250 OBO. USPS Shipping is included in the price anywhere in the USA.

The mounting stud with the six holes replaces the nut on the spindle arm, placing the swivel forward of the axle. That means a longer cable. Whether the swivel rotates clockwise or counterclockwise will dictate which side of the car it is mounted. In Australia that set up is offered at a very good price. Just the two internal gear pieces are worth more than that.

Hi thank you for your replies. I'm trying to find a set up for a 14. Would this work?

Hmmmm I have a few of those internal gears it appears. I was wondering what they were.

Richard, post a question on the general forum and you'll likely get the answer. Put in a link to this ad for reference.

More info from Steve Tomaso

Perfect shot - #1913 is RH - 2 & 1/2 to 1 ratio - Model T and a bunch of other cars that have the drive on the passenger side (RH) - #1959 is also 2 & 1/2 to 1 but drives on the driver's side (LH)

What appears to be a "P - 8" is the date - I have that info somewhere !

P-8 Indicates August , 1922

It is the same gear ratio, etc as a 1914.
