I need to chase the threads on some of my Schrader 777 stems. The 4-way stem tools that are universally sold have a die that handles the small end (0.305-32), but not the main shank (0.406-28). I've done what I can with a thread file, but to do a really good job I would like to have the correct die.
13/32 is very close to 0.406, so a 13/32-28 die would also work.
I've looked on Ebay, McMaster-Carr, and some other sites and nobody seems to have this size die. I have to believe that it was available in the past when these stems were common, does anybody have one they would be willing to part with, or can somebody point me to a supplier? Thanks!

Re: WTB - 0.406-28 thread die
13/32 nds used to be a pretty common thread. 13/32 16 is the thread on the bolts that hold the driveshaft bearing carrier to the differential. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. I'll look when I get a change. I have lots of old oddball tap and die sets. Nearly every carburetor has some kind of oddball or what we think of as oddball thread sizes.

Re: WTB - 0.406-28 thread die
Thanks Stan, no rush.
After doing some more research online, I found that another name for that size is 10V2-28. The spec table for 10V2 says it has an OD of 10.3 mm, which is almost exactly 0.406 inches.
I found an Australian supplier on Ebay that has 10V2-28 taps and dies, so I bought one tap (to chase the threads on the dust cover base nuts) and one die, I'll let folks know how well it works once I get it.

Looks like the Australian source on Ebay is gone, but there are other sources from China and Hong Kong:
