WTB, 26/27 coupe, sedan firewall

Post by SteveinNJ » Thu Oct 31, 2019 8:06 pm

Looking for a decent 26/27 firewall for setting up purposes on another frame. I have the frame brackets. Just need a firewall. If its rusty that's okay, just want it straight not dented up. Thanks!

Real nice firewalls you have but they look to be all earlier versions. Mine has no holes other than the steering column and the fuel bulb. Also,
it has a indented roll that goes straight across not half moon. Thank you for posting though! I appreciate it! Still looking....

Thanks Mark! I saw it, but way more than I want to spend on just a setup firewall. Jeff's prices are much better! LOL!

Clarification would help. Coupe/sedan I would imagine means a coupe or "two-door" sedan, NOT a four-door sedan. The four-door sedan for '26/'27 uses a firewall very similar to the ones used on all T body styles in '24 and '25. There are no holes for the coil box because the '26/27 sedan used the same engine mounted coil box that all other body styles use (some argument still out there about the TT trucks?). Also, strengthening beads stamped into the flat steel firewall are placed differently than the '24/'25, along with several other minor variations.

I am not an improved T expert. I never had a whole car of those two years, and have only worked on a few only a little bit. I have had only a few parts unique to those two years. So I do not know if the firewall, a totally different looking, three dimensional sort of a clam shell shaped thing, is the same or different between the open bodies and the closed bodies. I do have a firewall, I don't know what body style it was from? Someone started to cut and modify it. It is bent a bit. And the lower corner on one side is broken off (but I think I can find it?). It came to me in a small truck load of T parts I bought several years ago. I was actually thinking of using part of it as patch panel material, thinking some of the compound curves might fit something, but it never quite matched any pieces I needed. I would give it to anyone in the T community that would make good use of it. However, I really do not think it would be worth half the cost to ship it considering the amount of work it would take to make it usable. So basically, it would be available to anyone close enough to get it by "grapevine delivery service". And believe me. It is every bit as bad as I say it is.

I do hope you can find what you need for a decent price close to home!

I have one like on Tbay for $200.00 plus shipping. They are not as common as you would think.

Email if interested.

Hi Wayne!
Thank you for the information! I'm a Model A guy just learning Model T's, so sorry if I wasn't exact on what I was looking for. I've been reading that the 26/27 coupe and Tudor sedan were the same firewall. I also read the 4 door sedan was different, but my fault, I should've put Tudor. I haven't been back on in the past couple days. Busy with life in general. I have a firewall coming, so I think I'll be in good shape. Thanks again for your post!

I just found this in my pile today. I think it's a 26/27. Others can weigh in.

Jeff, that’s a nice looking 26-7 firewall, used on the fordor and the bare chassis that would have an aftermarket body supplied.
