Am looking for prints for Gingerly's magneto magnetizer, so as, to build one for a winter project.
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. You can email me (profile) or PM through site.

If you look at a couple of those sites you will see really high prices. That, without showing out of stock, keep the book on the web but so over priced that no one buys it. This happens on Ebay, something that a seller normally carries is out of stock so they jack the price really high, no one buys but keeps the item on the page. When the item is back in stock, the price drops to normal.
I see now that they don't even show it in stock.

You could try contacting them thru the store.

You guys need to get Hank Lee to post a picture of his magnet charger.

I need someone to post plans...…. lol. With these prices, as Mark states, one will have to wait. Reluctantly!

This is something I've started studying recently but haven't yet settled on a design. Some of these might help. This one comes more highly recommended than the one from the Gingery plans:

This one is an interesting discussion of people debating the merits of different designs:

Interesting articles. Interested in one which requires 110 and is more mobile. Rex 's you need a small fork truck to move.

Yes, and the Rex design also requires a small fork truck to move the pallets of cash required to build it. I was just adding up the materials and it is not cheap.

This is another one -- the retyped instructions from a 7th ed. Dyke's Encyclopedia:

The booklet is copyrighted.
Davids plans in the booklet are for 110 V AC, using diode and resistor to get DC to power the windings.

I had electrical assistance in building mine from the Gingery plans - I'm still looking for my book to let John use - I know it's here somewhere !!!

So what's the story on yours -- did you modify the Gingery specs?

No - pretty much followed the plans - it will saturate a magnet in a couple seconds & hold 4-5 lbs. - you can't hardly shake the piston off !

That's the ticket. Some of the forum posts I've read say that design isn't stout enough. Maybe they aim to pull the sun down out of the sky!
