Left would be drivers side (No oil filler hole). 1915 would also have no reinforcements ribs on outside flanges ( opposite of wheel, facing center of rear end ).

Left is the correct description. Passenger or drivers side is confusing when one considers there are LHD and RHD cars. The left side is correct regardless, unless you are one of the
" view from the front" crew who believe a LHD car then becomes RHD.

in the US the side is determined from sitting behind the steering wheel, facing forward, drivers side is the left side...

Joe, that's the point. The left side is the left side when facing forward, regardless of where the driver sits, regardless of the country of origin.

Allan is correct. Left or right side is determined from where you are setting in the driver's (operator's) seat, no matter which side of the road you are driving on and no matter what you are driving or operating. Dave
