WTB accessory spring bolts

Post by csnailnrun » Thu Dec 26, 2019 3:55 pm

I’m looking for two bolts for the front of this spring accessory. This is bolt replaces the standard perch bolt which must be 5/8 longer. Same diameter of course. Any ideas of where to get a proper fitting bolt? No luck at Fastnal. Maybe someone has the correct bolts for this? Thanks!

Think that there would 3 way to go about this, find the original bolts, use a wrong bolt or have them made. You would need a bolt that is non threaded along its length, has the same end as the perches to mount the wish bone, has the extra length added for thickness of the leafs and fits tight in the axle hole. Maybe I am missing something, but I would leave them on the shelf and use the stock perches. Looks like you would now be relying on only the wishbone to set the angle of the axle which is what the perches do, unless they have the angle built in or there is a missing part where they mount to the axle. You don't want to mess around with changing the geometry of the front end, it could lead to bad results.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

If you have a lathe, a junk T axle or driveshaft, and a little time... that’s how these bolts came about

Personally I wouldn't use those on my car. The quality of a lot of T accessories is very questionable and failure in a critical suspension part can go very badly.
