Looking for open car mirror
Looking for a vintage mirror that screws onto the top of a windshield. Langs sells a repop but I want an original. Silver doesn’t need to be good on the mirror.

Just brought it in from the garage, so glass is foggy.

Re: Looking for open car mirror
Hey Henry ... thanks for the offer but I think David has the right one for the open windshield.

No problem Mark, just an old frame I had laying around! Glad you found what you needed, I would take David's over mine anyway.

Re: Looking for open car mirror
Mark: Ford didn't offer a mirror until late in 1924, so the mirrors pictured above would be ok for your car. HOWEVER, the Trico mirrors that Ford did offer from 1924-1927 did not look like what is pictured here. They wrap around the top of the windshield and have two screw holes in the front too.
These mirrors are clearly pictured in the Fordex books in the accessory section. By 1925 Ford was drilling the holes for the wiper and the rear view mirror whether you wanted one or not! Should you be able to locate a later upper windshield frame, you won't have to worry about drilling holes! Ford used the screws for these that are used to hold the horn bracket to the steering column.

Re: Looking for open car mirror
Larry,
I have a windshield I recently purchased specifically for the bottom frame. The bottoms always rust out so I replaced the bottom on my car with this new purchase. So now I have the top frame which is drilled for the wiper and wanted to fill the holes. Even if I don’t actually have it on the car and save it for trade, I like to have it complete.
