Is there a way to edit post that you make? I've looked around and can't find a way. I'm a moderator on a motorcycle forum and posters can edit their threads and as moderator I can do quite a bit with them.

edit. Just found that by going to user control panel you can edit your post by clicking on the pencil. And you can edit just after posting. However if it is an older post (I wanted to edit a post I did the 10th) you don't have that option. Can the time limit be removed?

John,

If you created the post you should see a little pencil type icon right above the post area on the right side of the box. Select that and you should be able to edit your own post. I don't think there is a way to edit your reply post to someone else's thread. - Matt

Actually, I was just able to edit this post. See image attached.

From what I see, you can only edit your own post as long as no one else has added a post. Esp in the classifieds it would be nice to be able to mark sold in the title even if someone has added postings.

The time limit for editing a post is 60 minutes.

We don't want it to be longer in case if someone disputes what you said and then you change it.

An Admin can always change it for you if you message us.

Chris

Chris, that 60 minutes is pretty short. On my other forum there is no time limit.

I guess we all differ, but the times I've wanted to edit one of my posts have all been when I missed a typo or other minor error when previewing, posted the message and then discovered that I had made an error. I can't remember ever changing a post more than a few minutes after it was posted. We can, after all, always post a correction later in the thread. Errare humanum est. :D
