July 18 Cleared Cache, Now what?

Post by Mark Nunn » Thu Jul 18, 2019 1:08 pm

The banner said to clear my cache then login. I did that. I can read posts now but I cannot view any image that was posted after some time during the day of July 14.

What am I missing?

I also need to login every time I visit the forum, which I did not do previously. Edit: I fixed that problem by creating a new shortcut in my favorites folder.

I deleted cache, history, cookies and rebooted but still cannot see photos posted since Sunday.

If you are seeing problems logging in, clear your browser cache and try again. If you still have issues AFTER 8:45pm tonight (the required 24 hours after we made the change), then let us know. Everything may work for some people prior to that. It just depends where in the USA you live and who your ISP provider is.

Friday morning July 19. I still cannot view photos

I cleared my cache 3 times and clicked the little "Delete Cookies" button at the bottom of the forum page and rebooted. I'm using Windows Internet Explorer 11 for my browser.

Edit: I cleared cookies, history, etc. again and rebooted twice. I can see photos that were posted after 8:45 PM EDT yesterday. I cannot see photos from July 14 until last night.

AdminJeff, I'm not complaining here. I'm writing my experiences to hopefully help you track down whatever problem(s) exist with the software. I appreciate what you do here.

Yes, there are some pics that are missing. It’s the last thing I’ll fix...

How do you contact an administrator? No responses from Chris so I assume he no longer does the forum. No contact info anywhere for Jeff. Am I suppose to call susan? Thank you.

To do what? I've explained several times now that we are moving servers. There will be problems and they will be fixed. Yes pics from July 16 & 17 are missing. If I can fix that, I will, as I've said many times in multiple forums and postings.
This all takes time. And no, I don't get paid to do this, I do it because I enjoy it. Most of the time.

And I cant just snap my fingers and have things work. I wish that was an option. maintaining all of this takes a huge amt of time.

Jeff

I am only trying to find out what is wrong. I just looked through all the postings for July and there is no mention of any change to a different server that I can find. Nor any mention of clearing your cache, etc.

I went to change my password because it does not work and I am given a 50 character temporary password to reset it, and you are not allowed to cut and paste it. I am only trying to find a different. way to reset it. I tried to set up a new account and two people are not allowed to use the same e-mail address.

Yes I know this is volunteer effort on your part and it takes up a lot of your time. I also know you will work at it until it is fixed. I do not expect you to snap your fingers and fix it just like that.

I am sorry if you took offense from my earlier posting.

For whatever reason, clearing my cache wasn't enough, I had to delete my old bookmark to the forum index, go to the index via the MTFCA main site, then save a new bookmark. :)

I keep going through the theatrics of re-establishing all my preset pages, still, I have few pictures that seem to work, I have to log in every time I try to enter the site, and my old bookmark still gives the evil 404 message. And it won't let me stay logged in, apparently...

Not sure what happened but it's not playing nice anymore.
