Using the "Mark Topics Read" Feature

Post by CudaMan » Fri Jan 25, 2019 10:33 am

I like the "Mark Topics Read" feature, but is there a way to limit its action to only the currently viewed page?

This morning the new threads extended onto a second page. I went to page two, read one or two threads, then clicked on "Mark Topics Read".

When I went to page one, all of its topics were also marked read, which isn't what I had intended. :)

Does this help?

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=730#Icons

you can see the difference in icon color between Read and Unread posts within a particular Forum

Or is your question more about the topics extending over several pages and perhaps selecting entire pages to be marked as read? I did a quick Google search and there is discussion/banter about the ability to do that, but nobody has submitted a MOD for it yet.

Jeff, my question applies when a given forum main topic (like "2019 forum" extends over multiple pages. It would be nice if the "Mark Topics Read" only applied to the page being viewed instead of all the pages. :)

ok, now I understand. my answer is unfortunately the same - nothing I could find yet. But like all good puzzles, there's bound to be a solution somewhere. When it presents itself, I'll implement! It would be a good feature.
