Tutorial needed

Post by Jack Putnam, in Ohio » Sun Jan 06, 2019 8:55 pm

I think a bunch of us are going to need guidance on using the new format, Perhaps some hand holding , or maybe just being told how to live with this new stuff! Besides this is my test on using 2019 forum!

After a few days people will see how easy things are, and wonder why the switch wasn't made years ago !!

I'm having trouble remembering which thread I've read. Kinda liked in the old forum where they changed colors when I read them. Maybe I'm needing that tutoring thing too.
Just give me time to Rust and I'll be good as new. :) Wabi-Sabi

Yes it might not hurt! But I'm also "using you" Jack to try this out in a reply, as I don't know if it's gonna work
or not!! LOL. Have a good evening!

Chris, I know I am an electronic idiot so there is no argument but can someone tell me how I can differentiate what threads I have read and which ones I have not. I read there is changing of colors of the circle on the left but no matter how I look at it and even replying to ads nothing happens nothing changes indicating activity has taken place. I don't know what I read or what I have missed. Thank you. Frank

Hi Frank,

Here is what it looks like on my screen.
The two posts at the top I have already read. The two at the bottom are unread.

There is a button on the upper right which will clear all of the unread posts (red) and make them appear read.

Left mouse click on the image to enlarge.

Steve, I use an I pad and none of those circles change color to show that I have read the thread or not. I guess I will have to fire up the desktop to further experiment on this frustration. Thanks. Frank

Frank, I have an iPad as well. Colors change and read and unread works on mine. You do have to be logged on to your account for this feature to work. No mouse to “left click” on, you just tap on the photo to enlarge to full size.
