The “almost” tour

Post by Rob » Sat Aug 01, 2020 4:59 pm

A group of us decided to socially distance, and conduct as near a normal a tour as possible. We’re in Paynesville MN for a few days, replicating our Early Ford and Friends tours of the past. Tuesday it’s on to Spicer and a taste of what the New London to New Brighton offered in the past, with a few more intrepid “almost” tourers joining us.

We currently have four cars, a 1906 Buick Model F, 1907 Fords Model K and N, and 1916 Model T. Today’s highlights included a stop in Richmond for outdoor lunch, and crashing the party at biker bar in a little town on the way back to Paynesville.

Tonight, it’s brats, dogs and corn on the cob in the hotel parking lot.

It’s good to have the cars out on the road.

If you folks want to find to find the pioneer grounds in Albany. About 25 miles north. I'll open up the buildings. We had to cancel our show so it would be great to have people come and look anyway!

Hope this doesn't post twice. If you folks can find the Albany pioneer grounds I'll open the buildings! About 12 miles north of that biker bar you mentioned!

It's good to see that you guys are getting out and about. Your Model K is outstanding! I still haven't seen it in person, but hopefully that will be remedied sometime soon.

Who is that monkey in the back seat?

I hear there is bad weather coming. You might need to go to the tornado shelter on Central Ave in New London.

Doochie's in St Martin! Been there and remember those handrails! Do not remember much else...
Glad you folks are doing your thing best you can. The humidity is much nicer right now too. :)
Welcome back!
Michael's right too. Roll in to our nice grounds (great photo op's) or plan for another time if you'd like. :)

Is that Mark's Buick? I knew that Bruce wanted it finished for the NLNB tour. It is great that it is done and out running. I hope to see it soon. I remember when Mark bought it down in Iowa.

We had a similar tour out here in California the first week in June. There were about a dozen cars, all Model T's. It was a week long tour, and we had a good time. We all had masks for when needed, but heck, we out everyday in the fresh air enjoying ourselves. No one got the corona virus, or cared much about it either. Too bad almost every club has cancelled the events we all love.

In my own mind Rob: I've titled this "Virgil gets a ride in the K." In my own mind of course.
Great pics and thank you for showing!
