New Tool, Great value. Could be a lifesaver.

Post by Ruxstel24 » Sun Aug 16, 2020 11:08 am

The reason I bought this is OT, but it surely would come in handy on a T... ;)
I've been wanting a borescope for a while, but they were kinda pricey. They have came down.
$60-$100s for something decent, with a built in screen.
I have a car here that I determined has a leaking fuel injector when the car is off causing a hard warm start.
Which one of the 4 is the challenge esp at $100 each.
After some pondering< I figured a borescope should work down the plug hole, to see which one.
Found this one on the Amazon for less Than $20 !! Plugs into my laptop and is as clear as the laptop camera.
Has a built in adjustable light, waterproof, works with a smartphone also.
Very thin, bendable and holds it shape well. Comes with a hook and a magnet you can attach to the end.
Might be a lifesaver on that pesky band washer that dropped into the quagmire !!

It saved me pulling the hogs head. The old bolt down the the trans hole. The only way I found it, it was in the triple gears. Great tool for $20.

How about a link? I need one. Cooked my borescope camera working on a RV generator.
You say works with smartphones? Thanks Dan

Tried the camera out today for what I bought it for.
Pretty clear view of the top of the piston through the plug hole.
And just a shot out back. $20 well spent ! ;)

Hmmm, looks like a future Christmas present for my hubby. Thanks for sharing!

If you buy it thru Amazon, use the URL: Smile.Amazon.com and underneath the search bar, put in Model T Ford Club of America as the not-for-profit charity you’d like your purchases to support. You only have to set it once and then remember to use the smile.Amazon.com for all future Amazon purchases. Amazon donates a small % of sales thru the Smile version of their website. If you use it consistently, it does start to add up and it doesn’t cost you or the club a thing. As of May 2000, Amazon has given the MTFCA $362.88 thru this program.

Autozone has a free loaner borescope . You pay for it up front, return it and you get your money back.
They have lots of tools you can borrow.
