Mark Osterman - The Lost Lincoln
Did anyone watch the Discovery Channel show last night "The Lost Lincoln"? Mark Osterman was one of the experts consulted towards the end of the first hour. It was a very interesting show, and nice to put a face and voice to someone that posts on the forum from time to time.

Re: Mark Osterman - The Lost Lincoln
I wonder how many people here know that when Sears discontinued building the Sears autobuggy in 1912, they sold their interest and the designs to another company that used the forms and machinery to continue building the high wheel cars. They had to use a different name, so for about a year or a bit more, the car was marketed as the "Lincoln". No relation to Henry Leland's future endeavor.
Sears actually lost money on every autobuggy sold. However the notoriety of selling the cars through their catalog probably added considerably to other sales.
Thank you FJ for posting that picture!
