Question about Alt on T?

Post by Dan Hatch » Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:36 am

How do I tell if an alt is 6 volt or 12 volt. It is Delhi, has a battery post and a one wire plug. Has a plate screwed on the front to make it fit a T. No numbers I can see. Here is a pic.

Being a Delco Remy, it should be a straight up 12 volts.

Hope this Helps,

That could be a Larry Becker unit, he built them in both 6 and 12 volt but I don't know if they were marked in any way. They carried a lifetime warranty but sadly his ran out a few years back. Nice guy who knew his stuff. Jim

Next question: Is the wire run to plug to supply voltage to alt? Battery terminal is to charge battery correct? Thanks Dan
