WTB: 30" Rim
I need a good 30" clincher type rim. Does anyone have a good one that they would sell?

Demountable or not? I have both, but postage may be a killer.

Re: WTB: 30" Rim
Do a little research by googling: mtfca rim. Not all rims work with all wheels, they were supplied by several company. While some will mix others will not. Here is a sample; http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/179374/238915.html

Re: WTB: 30" Rim
That would be a 23” rim for a 30x3+1/2 clincher tire then...
As Mark mentioned, there are some different style rims and some may fit your wheels better than others.

Re: WTB: 30" Rim
Knowing the year is not going to help. Who knows what style wheel may have been on or replaced in the last 95 years. Can you post a photo of the felloe area where the lug goes? Are the other 3 wheel felloes/rims all the same as in a set? Is it fixed lug or loose lug?

Re: WTB: 30" Rim
Post some pictures of the felloe needing the rim - the valve stem hole and where a lug mate. There maybe a name on t he inside of the felloe on either side of the valve stem hole/ Pictures of one that is complete would help. Like everyone has said many different felloes and rims and some combinations are not safe.
The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

Re: WTB: 30" Rim
Scott, you should be safe with any 23" fixed lug BE rim other than a Hayes rim. The Hayes rims have a 'foot' on the lug which goes over the outer edge of the felloe. To fit a Hayes rim your felloes need a relief to allow that foot to go over the outer edge.
Hope this helps.
