1923 Touring Non electric/battery model
Well here I go again. Helping another friend sell her car. "Topless Tilley". This is a rare Model sold new as a non starter/generator/Battery car. Bob purchased the low mileage car from the original owner in mid 1960s The top was in shreds and so he removed it and drove it on many tours without the top and that's how it got it's name. He was determined to maintain it as it came from the factory due to it's rarity, and finally began the restoration with that same dedication, without any modifications. So he spent a lot of money and the restoration progressed but came to a stop in the 1990s due to health complications. It didn't get finished and has been setting inside the garage uncovered for 20 some years. So it's now covered with dust (see pictures) Otherwise it's as is when he stopped working on it. The work that has been done is extremely nice. As you can see in the pictures. It has the original blank off plates covering the starter and generator mounting holes, magneto horn, square felloe non demountable wheels, kerosene tail light, ignition switch without the ammeter, etc etc. Body and paint is done including fenders, running boards, aprons, hood, radiator shell, top bows, most of the chassis. In one of the pictures you can see where we cleaned a spot on the front axle and frame cross member. New radiator, some nickel plating is done. Comes with a complete Upholstery kit. The picture of the fender is an example of what all the repainted parts look like. We gathered all the parts together and every thing appears to be there. Price is $7,500.00. I could only get 5 pictures on here so I guess I'll have to do a second post with the rest.

ED: you are really tempting me to undertake another Bob assembly project. quit raining yesterday and I gave Bob's coupe a long run. Looks like the body and paint on this are just as nice as the coupe's. If somebody will relieve me of my xke or model a I would jump at this. Also if these photos are at Bob's house it looks like you have been very busy over there sorting parts. What is the status of the center door?

Hey Jim, breath easy, the touring is sold. As for the centerdoor, I bought a new battery it started right up and runs great. All we need to do at this point is wash it to get all the 20 years of dirt off of it and it's going to be available for around $7,000.00. Glad to hear you're having a good time with the coupe. Love that car!
