Mohawk Auxiliary Transmission

Is anyone familiar with the Mohawk Auxiliary Transmission and do you know what the gear pattern is? I have a 1923 Model TT with this type of transmission and I'm trying to learn to drive it. Any help would be great.

I've never actually seen a Mohawk transmission but I'm guessing it has a standard "H" pattern.

I'm not sure.I would get my first T with a oddball transmission. I can't get it into gear without the engine dying.

Does anyone else ever wonder why they never advertise the extra combinations when using Ford reverse pedal...? Could have advertised 7 forward, and 5 reverse! More is better... right?!🤔😉

Low Ford - Low aux
Low Ford - Int aux
Low Ford - High aux
High Ford - Low aux
High Ford - Int aux
High Ford - High aux

Low Ford - rev aux
High Ford - rev aux

But what about;
Rev Ford - Rev aux

Rev Ford - Low aux
Rev Ford - Int aux
Rev Ford - High aux

Don't assume the shift pattern is the same as any other specific auxiliary transmission. The Muncie and the Warford are different. So which one could the Mohawk be like? (I myself don't know.)
In the ad picture, it looks like it would be an "H" type pattern. To determine what is where, you can carefully, on level ground, put a chalk mark on the ground and turn the hand crank exactly one half turn. Carefully measure the distance moved (it will only be a few inches). Do this in all transmission positions. From this you can figure out which gear is where.

Be very careful to make certain the engine CANNOT start when turning the hand crank! I would recommend removing the spark plugs so that an unknown wiring problem and maybe good magneto don't surprise you! Besides, easier to turn the hand crank that way.

It is also a possibility that this transmission may not have an overdrive. Every now and then, T people get surprised when they find out the Muncie they bought isn't an overdrive! Some companies made transmissions with a direct and two lower gears for Fords. And some, like Muncie, made them both ways.
