TT values
I am not associated with this truck or owner, but I am interested in how high the bids go. From the description it has been "mechanically refreshed" by professionals and is a desirable TT, but I doubt it will get even close to the reserve price. I figure the top bid for this will indicate top dollar for a truck in good shape.

Re: TT values
I don't know what the reserve was. It's up to $5000 now and doesn't mention reserve, so I assume it is met. BTW, I would pay $5000 for that, if I was in the market for one.
Out of curiosity, why is this in the OT section? Are our rules so strict now that TT's are OT because they are TT's and not T's?

Re: TT values
Easy worth $5,000, and reserve is apparently met. This is a straight up auction now, I am eager to see what she goes for!Hal wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 7:42 amI don't know what the reserve was. I guess I could have put this on the regular forum no problem, but I did not give it any thought. Most of my posting is on OT. I figure most people read both the Forum and the OT, so with an appropriate label in the subject line it will be seen by those interested. I tend to use the Forum when I have a serious question about T's or TT's. TT pricing is just something I find interesting.

Re: TT values
Are those OEM stake sides ?
The general patina of this truck is *exactly* how I think a TT should look .... nice, but
used. The description suggests this *should be* a turnkey, go anywhere truck. Resultantly,
I think Tom is accurate in thinking this is a good example of seeing what an optimal TT
should fetch in an open auction situation.
As for the OT, ... it had been made clear by the mods that the purists types cry like a
scalded child if anything at all is posted in the "main" forum that doesn't meet their personal
criteria for being strictly relevant to their idea of what is and is not Model T related. As
a result, they gave us this other forum to post all the "grey matter" that might otherwise
start the downpour of complaints, so they simply don't have to deal with it. Is it right ?
Not in my opinion. Is it the easiest path for the mods to keep the forum from having a
whiner meltdown ? Sadly, it is.

Re: TT values
It looks like a very good truck, but I'll be surprised if is goes much over six grand. Lots of folks love TT's, but that doesn't seem to influence their monetary value.

Re: TT values
This is clearly ON topic. I demand this thread be deleted, or at least moved to the regular forum where it doesn't clutter up the OT threads. We should not have to wade through all the ON Topic posts here when trying to read serious OT stuff.
Somehow, that just doesn't have the same ring to it as when some crybaby does it. Does it?

It's been said and known for years, ... TT's are for losers. Thusly, them high
falootin' types over on the T forum don't want no TT talk or owners sullying up
their space with any of that nonsense.

Re: TT values
Unfortunately I believe you are correct. I would like to see it go for a lot more. I have a couple and the cost of fixing one up is relatively high. This one was professionally done??!!? If I were in the market (I'm not), and it were close enough to haul myself (it's not), I would easily go $10,000 on it.Steve Jelf wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 9:57 amIt looks like a very good truck, but I'll be surprised if is goes much over six grand. My guess is it goes for $8,000.

Re: TT values
Pure folly.
That TT degrades the value of my own time-hardened, ramshackle '25 down to about 800 bucks.
With original Warford shift knob. OK, what's left of it.
Oh wait. No wonder I'd never sell it.

Market value. Hard for me to believe how inexpensive these TT's are.

Re: TT values
To the typical person, TT cabs are not spacious enough and they are too slow ....
hence the lack of market interest that drives prices down. To the atypical T
person, this low cost is an added bonus of getting a lot of fun for a minimal up
front expenditure. The costs *may* come when it comes time to do any major
rebuilding, but all-in-all, T's are a very inexpensive way to participate in the old
car hobby, especially a TT.

Re: TT values
Supply and demand, I guess we should celebrate the fact that TT's are so inexpensive! But getting an engine rebuilt for one costs as much as an entire truck. My main complaint is that I don't have storage space for everyone that comes up that is a great deal like this one was.
Even with TT's depressed values, whoever got this truck got a GREAT deal.

Re: TT values
I have explained this concept here before regarding "value". A lot of people see
"value" only in the singular context of money. But "value" takes on a lot of forms.
Have one's health go to sh@t and a person quickly realizes what having good health
is worth, and probably grasps how some things are more valuable than money.
Same goes for happiness and peace of mind. In my opinion, my TT has no great
monetary value. I probably paid too much for it, have put more money into it than
I can dream of selling it for, but the pleasure it brings is priceless. And in comparison
to any other old car, really inexpensive too.
I could take on another hobby ... beer, golf, camping, R/C toys, whatever ....
They all require tools and parts and space and that all costs money. I feel the jollies
I get out of my TT deliver a lot of "bang for the buck", as the saying goes.

That was me in the video cranking and driving it! I also went thru the really beat up rear end. I did take some photos of brackets in the cab and such while I was working on it. By the way, I do not see this as off topic.

I grabbed the video link whilst it's still available.
Nice truck!
Great video.
Now I get it. My TT is still worth about.....800 bucks.
Thanks for starting this thread Tom! My faith is restored! And I certainly do NOT joke about that.
