27 Model TT
For sale is my 1927 TT, chassis number 14,302,728
I purchased this in Feb 2018 from an acquaintance who was dying and needed money. It was parked under a carport since sometime in 2003. The Bendix went out and he never got around to fixing it.
It is now at a point that is beyond my mechanical abilities, along with the fact that my health has deteriorated in the past 6 months.
The history of the car is it was originally purchased in Oklahoma. When the dust bowl hit, they moved to California, where they used it on their farm till the mid ‘50’s, then parked it behind the barn. At some point the motor was replaced as there are no numbers on this one. There is no rust in the body, other than normal surface rust on the chassis. In 1995 it was purchased by the person I got it from. He drove it until the Bendix broke in 2003.
Since owning it, I have replaced the interior with new springs from Snyder and tan leather from Jim Runde Upholstery, Dubuque, Iowa. I rebuilt the Bendix, rebuilt the carb, replaced the head gasket, and the new coils from the Coil Doctor. Last fall before I got sick, a person from the Rockford (IL) club came over and we had it popping. It is in need of a valve job. If it had compression, it would have run.
What comes with it: New Coker tires, tubes, and flaps. Coil tester, original head, supplies I purchased to work on it.
It has a Ruckstell underdrive.
I am asking $7000, obo,
Truck is located near East Dubuque, Illinois.

Re: 27 Model TT
I don't think that is the original head, it looks like a Z head. No problem if you want original, I am sure someone would trade you a good original style head for that Z head!

What is your asking price? Might save a lot of phone calls from us tire kickers if we knew what you were thinking as to it's value.

Re: 27 Model TT
Highly desirable Ford script bed, good body, Ruckstell!, and only needs a valve job to run?
Looks like a nice TT, but it would probably increase sale value if you did the valve job and got her running so she could be test driven.
Do you know if the rear is 5:1 or 7:1 ?

Re: 27 Model TT
I cannot do the work on it because of health. I have been sick more or less since last October. And I am not a mechanic, I know my limits and a valve job is way beyond my comfort zone.Tom Hicks wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 9:32 amHighly desirable Ford script bed, good body, Ruckstell!, and only needs a valve job to run?

No idea of rear ratio.
