Spark Plug Copper Crush Rings.....
Technically can these be used more than once to work properly?

Re: Spark Plug Copper Crush Rings.....
Probably the wrong thing to do, but, being Scottish, I flip them over and use them until a visual inspection leads me to believe they are beyond their use. But, again, this is on other vintage vehicles. I was under the impression that Model T spark plugs can be installed too deep in the cyl and I thread mine in until I feel I am getting good consistant spark.
Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

Sometimes, they don't.

Re: Spark Plug Copper Crush Rings.....
Different kinds were used over the years. I think some can be reused, depending on their condition. I just put in new ones because the old ones are usually too damaged.

I like them on other applications. My Roof head and a couple non-Fords use them. I bought a box at a closeout sale 30 years ago. I imagine there are some old boxes around somewhere and folks don't know what they are. I reuse them rather than using up the fresh ones.

When did I do that?

Mine has pipe threads, no crush washer. But i have expanded copper crush rings by soaking them in water & freezing them.

I thought we were talking about the ones that go inside the take apart plugs.

Re: Spark Plug Copper Crush Rings.....
Sorry I was not more specific. I was referring to the Copper rings found on more modern plugs......

Oh. If the question was about the ones between the plug and the head, I agree with Marc. For any new-to-T folks reading this, you don't use them on Model T plugs, which have a ½" pipe thread.

Re: Spark Plug Copper Crush Rings.....
Like Rich, I had gotten some boxes (of different sizes) at a swap meet or auction (I don't remember). With those in the cabinet I should have all my needs covered. The holder that hangs on the pegboard above the bench should last me quite awhile.Rich Eagle wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 1:08 pmI bought a box at a closeout sale 30 years ago. Now if I could just find some new gaskets for the take-apart plugs I would be happy.
