I think it interesting that there are lots of flag poles and that the street is so wide.

Since not all of the photos posted in this thread are of a Model T, I thought I'd share one from a while back:

Rich, I even see a glint of yellow shining on the shackle threads.

So many wonderful photos, and colors,in this thread!

Henry, as a former NRF employee I can identify with that photo.
Wayne, looking at colors when I paint I see them in everything. Some folks notice them more than others. Just another example of our variegation.
Thanks

Dallas, I tried to think of a pun answer but it was too much pressure and I couldn't get a grip on it.
By the way, Joy asked our 8 year old Grandson what a pun was. He said "Wellll...It's kind of like a joke but not as funny".
I'm not sure I agree.
Thanks

We used to see that several times in the Park when we were Kids. Often two dozen bears-in-the-road in a thirty mile stretch. Many more tourists and a few bad instances has changed all that. Thanks for the second look, Perry.

A contrast between the old and new goggles seemed interesting today. Some will remember this project.

I hope to spend a pretty good chunk of next summer Model T touring up that way. It's beautiful and historic country.

We did torture the children from birth with the open car rides and the obnoxious people who tour in them. There ought to be a law.
To get back at us they send their grandchildren to us to punish in the same way while telling their friends what adventures they had in those days.
Go figure.

This cap is typical of the ones worn by drivers of the big Yellow Buses that were driven in Yellowstone Park. Hats and vintage clothing can compliment the cars on tours or parades.

Some rain and a later Cadillac compliment the Coupe. As a kid I played baseball in a field next to the old house. It was in a different location then. It seems like we had to replace one of it's windows. When the lady who owned it passed away Doc Battles moved his office there. Prior he practiced on the second floor of the Gaiety Theater.
Just reminiscing.

Not exactly car related - but I've had fun with this - I've noted for some time that Babe seems to encourage avian visitors in her stall, but I didn't think she'd go so far as to build them a bird house in there. Chicks just fledged . . .

In the "cool old hardware" dept. - horse barn in our place was originally a 4-horse shed with tie-stalls. It probably dates from about 1905, I love the ridged hinges and ceramic knobs on the manger doors. Apologies for the Phillips screws, which I really detest, but slotted head wood screws have disappeared from hardware supply.

These have some more of the colors and shapes I find fastening. Brass vs nickel with appropriate oval head screws in oval bow and iron. Even some aged original paint and the nail. These come in hand for reference when restoring a car.

Getting the exposure right on a photo of a black car is awfully difficult. If you get the car right, the background and everything else will be washed out, or if you get the background and everything else right, the car becomes a solid black blot with no texture or detail. Fortunately, there's Photoshop, which is what I use to balance the exposure of the various elements independently. It also allows me to eliminate distracting details like the lines painted on the pavement and the modern guard rail.

Nice touch Bob. I usually do a little with Photoshop on mine. I'm not the best photographer and my camera is simple enough to keep me out of trouble. The photo I posted today shows some of the building in the wrong light. The car is not the main feature of the picture. Choosing the right location doesn't always yield the best results.
Photoshop has spoiled me. I'm glad my wife subscribes. ;)

After some difficulties one day I noticed the cap on my solvent bottle ( formerly an oil container) was encouraging me to try again. It was much like getting on the forum this morning. The pieces of string were to seal my pan cover bolts and I was replacing them with plastic tubing donuts and flat washers.

Looking at the different ways similar parts can look is interesting to me. The way the light catches each one is unique as are the shadows.
I was pleased to find these at a low price but found they were all for one side and not the other.

This is not what you expect to see under the hood. Model G and F Buicks had this odd shaped gas tank here. The engine is a two cylinder under the seat. The galvanized steel and brass has survived nicely for 112 years.

Fall will be here soon enough. The creeping in of cooler temps and shorter days gives
cause to stop and feel the sun on one's face and just take in the warmth, the smells of
crisp air, cut wood, and hot oil. In a month it will smell like snow and everything frozen,
until spring brings the smells of life back to the air.

Been cutting wood all summer, as time allows. Pine burns nice and smells wonderful.
Maple burns long and super hot. Got a lot of maple this year.

This telephone line was built in 1880 and traversed some breathtaking country. I find
so much beauty in the rust and rock and lichens, but equally as much in the understanding
of what it must have taken to build a line like this in such incredibly rough country at a
time when there were no power tools, and what such a line meant to the surrounding
communities. To hike and climb these cliffs was the stuff that fills the soul. As Rich has
mentioned so much before, the colors are incredible. The sun on the metal and rock
create a unique warmth and smell. The Fir, Juniper, and Pine fill the air with an intoxicating
aroma.

After spending the better part of a century out in the high desert country of sage
brush and Ponderosa Pine, the combination of sun baked grease, rust, and lichens
make the wonderful cast iron embossing of this TT rear end and Lincoln transmission
look even better. One can almost smell the hot metal just looking at the photo.

Sorry, this isn't a Ford but I love the picture. Taken on April 18th at around 4:45 AM in the morning as we annually drive to San Francisco to attend the 1906 earthquake commemoration ceremony in our 06 Locomobile with lights a blazin. The event is held at Lotta's Fountain (where these pictures were taken) on Market St. and commences at 5:13 AM each year, the same time that the devastating earthquake began in 06. I'm including 2 pictures because one of them doesn't really show enough of the bright carbide lights. I hope you like them as much as I do.

Great photo Ed! I think I recognize a couple other faces (or ears!) in the pictures.

This was taken in Yellowstone by the Gibbon River. In spite of the excessive traffic later in the day, the early morning was almost perfect.

We didn't get the T to Yellowstone this year yet. It's one of my favorites and we often find a slow traffic day to drive there. The other tourists can be delightful with their surprise and interest in seeing an old car.

Perhaps the original paint and stripe on a '09 fender? Sort of charming regardless.

This temporary setup for getting the Coupe motor running consisted of a tin can for gas and a training wheel support to hold a dashboard in place. This photo was taken about 6 years ago. It's fun to look back.
