MTFCA.com - no luck connecting

Post by Bill Robinson » Thu Jul 11, 2019 8:37 pm

I've been trying to search the old forum since this morning and get this msg "Hmmmm….Cant reach this page". Inserting the http://www.mtfca.com/ as the URL gets the same results. I've checked with Model T friends and they are having the same results. Is the problem temporary? Or longer?

I can’t log into the main MTFCA site, I wanted the Encyclopedia.... Also the previous forum (2018) is not to be responding. It appears it’s been down for about 24 hours. I imagine Chris and Adam know so we will just have to wait patiently😊

Tony, I’ve had trouble accessing it for the last two and a half days. I posted in the forum support topics and there has been traffic there so I don’t see it being a problem much longer........hopefully.

Many thanks Chris! The loss of information that has been posted in the past WOULD be a great loss. :(
One question; I have read the posting in the Forum Support Section and get the impression that it is still in use by some people to post. Why are people still posting in the old 2018 section? Seems to me that they are going to get very few viewers looking there. If you can post on this new forum that you can't post in the 2018 section, why would you anyway?
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

No fear of losing the old info, it is backed up in several places.

We are changing providers, first going to migrate our original MTFCA.com then migrate this site which hosts the forum and homecoming websites.

Stay tuned as Susan, Jeff & I make the changes and please be understanding as we work thru this.

Mark, I am not sure why there are postings on the old forum, I changed it to read only when we started the 2019 Forum here.

There are only a few posts so I didn't think it warranted my time to track down.

Pay me no mind, unless some detail I mention can help you. Take your time about the switch and issues. Do not stress about it. We can wait (whether some of "we" understand that or not!). You all are doing a wonderful (and quite difficult) job!

For whatever it is worth. About two weeks ago, I went to reread a past year's (2018 I think) posting, and when I was done rereading it, I discovered to my surprise that "Post Reply" was highlighted as if I could use it. I did not try it to see. I was also looking at a couple of older threads, and I think earlier ones were locked.
