1926 Touring Car Project

Post by Fozz71 » Sun Aug 04, 2019 8:10 pm

1926 Touring car project car. Parade car that sports a large school bell, a loud aoogah horn, two hidden speakers under the car for 1920s music and a CB hidden so you can talk at people while driving. Starts, runs & stops well. Runs only on a distributor, magneto removed.
Lots of dings, dents, nicks and repairs all over the sheet metal- but no fiberglass. Fenders, aprons & running-boards have been powder coated. Hood and body have been amateur painted. Nice generic new vinyl interior, good 1926 irons and wood bows (has one repaired iron).
- new engine valves, new transmission bands, rear lined brakes, rebuilt driveshaft & rebuilt
rear end with new inner & outer seals, roller bearings and thrust washers.
- fresh motor oil, rear end 600W lube & gas tank is good, new fuel sediment bulb, rebuilt
carburetor, has a sight glass on trans to see oil level
- good older 4.50 x 21” tires & wooden demountable wheels
- safety glass
- new hoses, good radiator with fresh coolant, nickel radiator shell, new fan belt, newer spark plugs
- new wiring and car is 12volt to run accessories and distributor (new ammeter included)
- doors all close and latch solidly, no rust
- dual taillights & seal beam headlights work but need a few bulbs
- good brakes and hand brake holds the car
Overall a solid and worthy 1926 Touring car that needs a good home. It may not be the prettiest car but it has been maintained. If you want a trailer queen, this ain’t it, this is a fun driver with personality. Open title from 1932 Wisconsin and VIN matches the frame number. Title says sedan and not touring, but many states don’t focus on the model, just year and VIN. Located in Oswego, IL Text Jim at 630-935-8561 or email anteekguy97@aol.com, asking $6500 or best offer, more pics available.
