Old Photo on tour
This reminded me of the scenery at New London to New Brighton this weekend.
So many were in period clothing.-

Re: Old Photo on tour
That is a 1914 Oregon license plate nicely mounted on the dashboard where it won't inhibit cooling. The rough looking background suggests an exciting excursion to me.
Thanks

Re: Old Photo on tour
Looks to me like the right fender is bent down a bit. It's closer to the tire than the left one.
The inevitable often happens.

Re: Old Photo on tour
Heinrich sends along the following information:
This photo was taken where the road ends in Silver Plume. Hilda Gruenwalder had
traveled to the Chugwater district to visit her father there at the mine cabin/office
in the summer of 1916, before the Nutmeg Incident. The car made the trip to and
from Oregon on a railroad flat car, and was just used to tour around the area after
being unloaded at the Calhoun County Co-op's ramp in Saddle String. They loaded
the car back up and pressed on to Pispacattiquattimawken, where George's Uncle
ran the local Sanitary Cafeteria. They returned to Hoskins in October, where George
resumed his position as dispatcher/telegrapher for the Valley & Siletz.

Re: Old Photo on tour
The front fenders are mismatched. The bills are different.

Re: Old Photo on tour
Those are not mis-matched fenders.
You are confusing the porch and a shadow under the porch with the fender. It's an optical illusion.
Look harder and you will see the passenger fender is the same as the driver fender.

Re: Old Photo on tour
Yep, you're right. The line there is a bit fuzzy but I can see what you're saying. Tricky.
