1926 Touring-National winner-significant price reduction
1926 Ford Model T Touring
There is a new price for spring, $15,500. You cannot even start a restoration of this caliber for double the price. Essentially you are buying a restoration at less than half price with a great car thrown in for free. Without a doubt, this is currently the very best restored Improved Ford Tourings anywhere in the world. A comprehensive and exhaustive, no expense spared, frame-up restoration from a rust free, Virginia car was completed over the course of five years. The effort resulted in an AACA Senior Grand National award, with multiple repeat-preservation awards, most recently at the Auburn AACA Grand National, June 2019. The car was the winner of the MTFCI 2006 Stynowski award for most meritorious restoration of the year, multiple Concours class awards including Meadowbrook Concours, Willistead Concours, Greenfield Village Old Car Festival (first place 3 years in a row) and Best of Show at the Hoosier Auto Show. This car appeared on the cover of the Model T Times and Antique Automobile with accompanying feature articles. Nothing but the best work was done as evidenced by a Sandy McTavish engine rebuild, Coil Doctor coils, Mark Eyre paintwork, Gord Koll woodwork, Mark Larder upholstery, nickel by QualKrom and much more. This is a car that runs and drives even better than it looks. It has always been fastidiously maintained so it needs absolutely nothing cosmetically or mechanically. You can drive and/or show it anywhere with pride. Absolutely no disappointments. I continue to offer the car for sale only because another project is calling my name. Loudly. Re: Stynoski winning car
This car has not sold??? Really? What does that say about the hobby? The seller couldn't have a nicer car or lower price. Incredible...

Re: Stynoski winning car
I appreciate the comment Tom. I have had several people contact me about the car, and most recently someone looked at it yesterday.
What I am hearing is that people are asking themselves if this is the time to buy, more that if this is the car to buy. It hits national publications for their October issues so maybe with a wider audience it will go?
Candidly, I am still ahead if it fails to sell because I will still have the car.
Thanks again for looking everyone.
Eric

Re: 1926 Touring-National winner-significant price reduction
Not everything works as we expect. Despite a great deal of interest and one person who committed to buy the car, this one remains available. I would consider a reasonable offer. The published price is 18,500 but I would look at an offer in the 17,900 range. Thanks to all who have expressed support so far.

Re: 1926 Touring-National winner-significant price reduction
Hank,
Thanks for the kind words. The car really is a great car all around. I know a lot of Model T guys are all about saving money. Really, when you consider what you get with this car today, compared to what you would have to pay to duplicate it, this car really is a bargain. Thanks to all who have looked so far.

Wheel Color
Great car. I think If it had white wall tires and red spoke wheels it would have sold a long time ago. Don't know if that would have been period or not but would sure look good.

Re: 1926 Touring-National winner-significant price reduction
I did consider a change in wheel color to get it sold but when working on cars at this level we're not talking about just a few bucks in paint. To have the wheels repainted in a new color it is literally weeks of careful washing, sanding, epoxy primer, more sanding, meticulous masking, followed by nearly $400 in materials. I know one person walked away because his wife didn't like the wheel color. That said, the emerald green on my wheels was a factory color and provided me a wow factor that was well recieved at Concours events. Yes, it was a hard car to consider selling but for me, I needed to move on to another car. And I got a good one!
