There are two posts in the recent past about a fraudulant buyer wend55 that sends an email or private message that says “ contact Gene Morgan he has one for sale” I got that message in reply to a WTB ad I posted. When contacted by email his answers were vague and pictures were from someone else’s legitimate ad. I think you have been scammed. Art

BOB, Here is the LINK to user wend555 Scam in MTFCA (note the extra 5 so may not be the same) - compare your info to what's in the link to verify https://mtfca.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php? ... ene#p53401
Email me a copy of his email address he used and I'll see if I can track him down.

Wow! I guess I dodged a bullet. I got a similar email from a guy telling me to try Gene Morgan as he had some NOS New Day brushes to sell. After a couple of email exchanges I decided to pass.....lucky for me. The email I was given was <Genem365 @gmail.com>

Yes Genem365@gmail.com and wend555 are one in the same. In searching the INTERNET I found a few other clubs that reported "Gene". Now this can be a setup that the person sending the message about Gene Morgan, Kross23, may in fact be he scammer masquerading as a helpful friend.

When I started on my latest restoration adventure, I was wisely advised to deal only with responsible members of this group for the endless parts that I have and will need over the years ahead and not go wondering off to oddball deals. This sad tale has proven yet again to be very wise and valuable guidance indeed. Hope this works out well for you.

Bob, Can you post (or email the forums admin) the email address of the scammer's "son" used in PayPal. This would likely lead to the real perpetrator and that email address needs to be blocked from the forum as well. PayPal requires their users to link to a bank account to receive their funds or if they want a check a legitimate address.

The problem is using Friends and Family/Gift is you are not protected esp it you are sending money to someone you do not know.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Wow. I get a response to my add wanting to buy a Windfield carburetor from Wendell loadholt telling me to try gene morgan. He sent me a photo of a Windfield but wasn’t the one I was looking for. I did some research on that carburetor trying to see if it was still something worth buying. The only photo I could come up with was the one he sent me. I asked him for dimensions of the flange and this is where we are. I think I’ll pass thanks Robert.

Ever notice that when dealing with people like this, the grammar is usually that of a 5th grade dropout?

I do not do anonymous business with any one that cannot spell, or makes words plural with a "z".
